Matt and Ellen, locals to Walt Disney World and husband/wife duo travel planners at Dreamers Do Travels, Inc., had the opportunity to visit the newest attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during opening week! Read on to get their point of view of Mickey’s Runaway Railway!
“We had the chance to ride this brand-new attraction at Hollywood Studios yesterday! While we will ALWAYS MISS the Great Movie Ride, this new attraction is definitely pretty cool! The queue line feels longer than the old one did because it is now broken up into many different sections, experiences and there’s not much to keep you occupied while you’re waiting. BUT……
The cartoon short that leads you into the cartoon world is adorable and ends with a HUGE SURPRISE and a fun TWIST!
After that, you enter the final queue area before boarding the train. (Handicapped guests need not worry. There is a separate loading platform for those who need assistance.)
The ride is fast-paced, but not in the speed of the vehicle itself. Rather, the story comes at you fast and each room you enter is filled to the brim with details and images and movement!
Truly, it was hard to even capture decent photos and videos!
There is some jerkiness to the ride vehicles, but nothing extreme. In terms of those with issues to motion, parts of the ride can be challenging. It is more challenging than, say, Star Tours, but less challenging than, say, (Toy Story) Midway Mania and much less challenging than Flight of Passage.
This is an attraction you (and we) are going to have to ride again and again in hopes of catching all the details!
P.S. There are tons of Hidden Mickeys in this attraction. Matthew found only 12 yesterday.”
